The Government of Tamil Nadu has launched a scheme named Tamil Nadu Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme. Under the Tamil Nadu Illam Thedi Kalvi scheme, volunteers will take classes near the students’ homes after completing their school hours. According to the state government, the Tamil Nadu Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme has been started as a pilot project only in 12 districts of the state and the volunteers will now join the students for 1 hour every evening.

The objective of the Tamil Nadu Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme

The main objective of this scheme is to improve the level of school education in the state. Apart from this, the volunteers will act as messengers of the government school students for the betterment of the overall education level in the state. The main framework and idea of the Tamil Nadu Illam Thedi Kalvi Scheme are made up of educationists, other members of the Economic Advisory Council from UNESCO, and the state government.

Together, they have taken a decision for a better future for the school students of the state and have tried to provide the best facilities for the students who have been affected the most due to the pandemic.

The eligibility criteria are given below:-

• The applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu.
• The applicant must be studying in classes 1 to 8.
• Students belonging to all sections of society are eligible for this scheme.

• Candidates who will enroll themselves as volunteers will have to teach classes 1 to 8.
• Candidates teaching classes 1 to 5 must have completed their education up to class 12th.
• Candidates who want to teach classes 6 to 8 must have completed graduation.

• After entering all the information now also provide the information about the educational and professional details.
• After completing the above process verify your registration form.
• After verifying, click on the submit option.
