Types Of Ration Card
- NFSA Ration Card: All the residents of Meghalaya who are duly recognized and recommended by the local head/court are eligible to receive ration under the National Food Security Act, (NFSA).

- For urban areas – As per the report of the Hashim Committee submitted to Planning Commission.
- For Rural areas – As per the Socio-Economic and Caste Census Booklet issued by the Ministry of Rural Development.

Priority Households (PHH Ration Card): It is issued to those families who have less than 2.5 acres of irrigated land and having no irrigation equipment, who does not have a four-wheeler motorized vehicle, and If the number of dwelling rooms in possession of household is less than 4, all those families are eligible for PHH.
- Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY Card): Antyodaya Anna is also called Pink Card, This card is issued to those families whose annual income is less than Rs 1 lakhs. Pink Card Holders families get the 35kg rice per month at a price of Rs.2 per kilogram.
- Non-NFSA Ration Card: All those who do not come under the NFSA ration card are eligible for Non-NFSA Ration Card. The allocation of food grains under non-NFSA is taken from allotment received from the Government of India.

Annapurna Ration Card: This card is issued to the old age peoples of the state. Annapurna Ration cardholders get the commodity free of cost to each indigent. Old Age Persons above 65 years of age who did not get the benefits of the National Old Age Pension Scheme are eligible for obtaining an Annapurna card.

Application Procedure of Ration Card
Ration Card Under NFSA
To apply for Ration Card under NFSA, you have to follow the following procedure.
- First of all, you have to download the Separate Claims and Objections Form, for Rural and Urban areas are available the link to the application form is given below.

- Now download and print out the separate claim and objection form.
- Now fill in all the information asked in the application form carefully.
- After filling the application form, all important documents have to be attached with the application form.
- Now with an application form and all the important documents you have to visit the FCS & CA authority of the District/Sub-Division(C) and have to submit the application form with all documents and the Clerk will provide an acknowledgment slip. Keep the receipt safe for future reference.
- The application will be forwarded to the supply officer for verification.
- After verifying the documents, the Supply officer will visit the home to verify the exclusion parameters of NFSA.
- And at last, submit the receipt to the clerk, and the card will be issued within 15 days by the concerned authority.
Non-NFSA Ration Card
To apply for Ration Card under NFSA, you have to follow the following procedure.
- First of all, you have to download the Application form, the link to the application form is given below.
- Now download and print out the Application form.
- Now fill in all the information asked in the application form carefully.
- After filling the application form, all important documents have to be attached with the application form.
- Now with an application form and all the important documents you have to submit the application to the respective DC/SDO Supply Office.
- After verifying the documents, the card will be issued within 15 days by the concerned authority.
