Types of Karnataka Cards
The ration card is classified into two parts:
Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) Ration Card
- Rice-Rs. 3 per kg
- Wheat-Rs. 2 per kg.
- The AAY ration card is provided to families whose annual income is below Rs.15000.
Priority House Hold (PHH) Ration Card
- Rice-Rs. 3 per kg
- Wheat-Rs. 2 per kg.
- Coarse Grains-Rs. 1 per kg.
The PHH ration card is provided to the people belonging to rural households. There are two categories in PHH Ration Card ie Annapurna Yojna and Non-Priority:-
Annapurna Yojana (AY) Ration Card
- The AY Ration Card is a special type of ration card issued only to poor people above 65 years.
Non-Priority Categories (NPHH)
- The NPHH is not eligible to get subsidized food grains.

Eligibility Criteria For Karnataka Card
- The applicant should be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
- He or she must be 18 years or above.
- The applicant and his or her family must not possess a family card that is registered in any other state in India.
- Newlyweds can apply for the ration card.
Application Fee for Karnataka Ration Card
- There are no fees for filling the application form but while collecting the Ration Card the applicant has to pay Rs 100.
Karnataka Ration Card Application Process
To apply for the Karnataka Ration Card follow the following steps:-
- To apply for a ration card, you have to go to the TSO or DSO office. For Karnataka Ration Card, you have to fill the application form and attach all the necessary documents with the application form and submit it to the concerned office. After applying, you will be issued a ration card within 30 days after verification.
