The Government of West Bengal has launched the Bangla Awas Yojana 2023. Don’t be deprived Bangla Awas Yojana is a part of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Bangla Awas Yojana
The Government of West Bengal has launched Bangla Awas Yojana to provide pucca houses with basic amenities to all homeless families and families living in kutcha and dilapidated houses by the year 2022. Under this scheme, 1 crore families living in kutcha houses will be covered in 3 years, that is from 2016-17 to 2018-19.
Earlier the minimum size of the house was 20 square meters which have now been increased to 25 square meters with hygienic cooking space. Apart from this, the unit assistance has been increased from Rs 70000 to Rs 1.20 lakh in plain areas and from Rs 75000 to Rs 1.30 lakh in hilly areas, difficult areas, and IAP districts. Under this scheme, the beneficiary is entitled to 90.95 person-days of unskilled labor from MNREGA
West Bengal Government has released the new list of Bangla Awas Yojana. The people of the state whose names will appear in this list will be provided houses by the Bengal government. Bangla Awas Yojana has been started in support of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, under which more than 10 lakh houses will be constructed by the state government by the year 2022.
An amount of Rs 1,20,000 will also be allotted as financial assistance to the citizens. Through this scheme, this amount will be allocated by the Bangla government to the citizens in 3 installments. Objectives of Bangla Awas Yojana
The main objective of Bangla Awas Yojana is to provide their own housing to those families who do not have a house to live in. Citizens of all such poor families will be made aware of the convenience of the house so that citizens can lead a happy life.
Under the Bangla Awas Yojana list, the beneficiary family will be provided their own house by the state government. Eligible citizens coming under this list will be selected on the basis of the Socio-Economic Caste Census list.
Benefits of Bangla Awas Yojana
The benefits are as follows-:
- Through this scheme, pucca houses with basic amenities will be provided to all the houseless householders and those households who are living in kutcha and dilapidated houses by the year 2022.
