Assam Post-Matric Scholarship is an initiative of the Government of Assam to provide financial assistance to students who belong to the OBC category and are studying in class 11 and above. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to OBC students studying after matriculation or at the secondary level to continue higher studies.

Assam Post-Matric Scholarship
As we all know that many students in India leave their education midway due to their economic conditions. So all the governments are trying their best to reduce the number of dropouts either central or state. Coming up with lots of plans. Now the Assam Government has started the Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students. All OBC / EBC / DNT students with annual incomes up to Rs 2.50 lakh will be eligible under this scheme.
However, the state government will make special efforts to identify the poorest families from various sources and enroll eligible students under the scheme in mission mode. Also, these students will be monitored regularly so that they can continue their studies.

Purpose of Assam Post-Matric Scholarship
The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the OBC, EBC, and DNT students studying at the post-matriculation or post-secondary stage to enable them to complete their education. And reduce the number of dropouts in the state. This scholarship shall be available for those students who reside in Assam state and study in India only.

Benefits of the Assam Post-Matric Scholarship
Selected candidates will get the following benefits –

NOTE- Students studying through correspondence/online courses will not be eligible for Academic allowance. However, they will be paid tuition fees.

What are the Eligibility Criteria?
The eligibility criteria for the students to apply for the OBC scholarship are listed below.
- be a domicile of Assam
- belonging to the OBC category
- Studying in class 11 or above (pursuing recognized post-matric and post-secondary courses)
- Have an annual income of less than INR 2.5 Lakhs from all sources
What are the Important Documents?
- Caste certificate signed by an authorized Revenue Officer
- A passport-size photograph
- A copy of the duly filled application in the prescribed form
- Attested copies of all relevant certificates/diplomas/degrees in respect of examinations passed
- Income declaration, a certificate from the parents/guardians
What is the Application Process?
- Visit the Official Website of the National Scholarship Portal
- In Applicant Corner select “Fresh Application”
- Read the instructions carefully and enter your Application Id, Password, and Captcha for Login.
- After logging in to your account select the Scholarship scheme and fill in the required details to apply for the scholarship.
- If you are a New User then click on the New Registration option.
- The instructions page will open on your screen.
- Tick mark the declaration.
- Click on the “Continue” option.
- Enter all of the details like entering name, date of birth, mobile number, gender, email ID, bank details, etc.
- Enter the captcha code
- Click on the “Register” option.
- After registering your account you can log in and apply for the scholarship.
- After completing your application you will get a confirmation message to your registered email id & mobile number.
